Q: What
is the ruling on purchasing from a Pepsi machine which exists in the street and doing so after the second Adhan (call to prayer) of Jumu`ah (Friday Prayer)?
Does the ruling of prohibited sale apply to this?
A:
The Noble Ayah (Qur'anic verse) is general in preventing the seller and purchaser from selling and purchasing:
O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salât (prayer) on Friday (Jumu‘ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allâh [Jumu‘ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salât (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing).
